Doctors Provide Chiropractic Treatment to Children in the Golden Triangle
|
|
|
In the Spring of 2007, Dr. Michael Hornick, Dr. Stacey Hornick, and Dr. Nicole Arnold, volunteered their time to help the children of the Golden Triangle where they provided free Chiropractic treatment to over 600 children. This was the first time that most of these children had ever been seen by a doctor.
The doctors worked out of the Akha Training Centre which is located in Chiang Rai province, in a small town called Mae Suai. This area is part of the famous "Golden Triangle", which stretches from Thailand to Laos and Burma.

The unique programs of CGT have transformed the lives of hundreds of Akha Tribal Children.
CGT Inc. has been rescuing and caring for children since 1994 and is a state government approved charity.

Brief History of CGT::
The refuge was started in January 2000 by David and Asa Stevenson with the intention of caring for 20 Akha children that needed help with schooling and to take them out of the danger and vulnerability of sex slavery where they suffer years of humiliation that ends in the slow and painful death from AIDS. February 2000 the first building was started. Before the first building was finished 40 more children were found that needed shelter and food, to stop them going onto the street to beg.
The children had walked 100’s of kilometres with no bedding or clothes finding food in the mountains as they went. Since 2000, with the help of many friends, the refuge has grown to accomodate many more children.
